Terms of Use
Splitski is a product of Brooke Builds Stuff LLC. By using the app, you agree to these terms. Plain-language summary up top, the rest is the actual agreement.
The short version
- You can use Splitski to split receipts and send Venmo requests. Three scans are free; after that the lifetime unlock is a one-time $4.99 via Apple In-App Purchase. No subscriptions. Ever.
- We use AI (Anthropic's Claude) to read your receipts. It gets things wrong sometimes. You're responsible for checking the math before you send a request.
- Venmo handles the actual money. We just hand off the request with a pre-filled amount and caption.
- If you don't like the app, delete it. Refunds for the lifetime unlock go through Apple.
The service
Splitski extracts line items from a photo of a receipt using third-party AI, lets you assign items to people you add, computes each person's share including proportional tax and tip, and opens Venmo with a pre-filled request. The app may rely on third-party services (Apple, Anthropic, Supabase, Venmo) that have their own terms; if those services are unavailable, parts of Splitski won't work.
Your responsibility
- Verify amounts before sending Venmo requests. AI receipt parsing is approximate; humans miss things and so does the model.
- Have permission to add anyone you add as a split participant. Use Splitski for personal/social check-splitting, not for commerce or commercial collections.
- Don't try to reverse-engineer the app, abuse the AI quota, probe our servers, or impersonate other users.
Pricing and the lifetime unlock
- The first 3 receipt scans on your account are free.
- After that, a one-time $4.99 lifetime unlock removes the cap. It's purchased through Apple In-App Purchase and tied to your Apple ID, so you keep it across devices and reinstalls.
- No subscriptions. No auto-renewals. Future features that ship under the same app are included.
- Refunds for the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't process payments directly and can't issue refunds ourselves.
- Prices may change in the future for new users. Existing lifetime owners keep their unlock at no additional cost.
Content + privacy
You own your receipts, splits, and profile data. We process them only to provide the service. For details on what we collect and how, see the Privacy Policy.
Accounts
Splitski accounts use Sign in with Apple. You can delete your account from the app at any time (Settings → Delete account) — that removes your data from our server. Deleting the app does not delete your server-side data; account deletion does.
As-is, no warranty
Splitski is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Brooke Builds Stuff LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the AI parses receipts correctly or that the service is uninterrupted or error-free.
Limit of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Brooke Builds Stuff LLC's total liability for any claim arising out of your use of Splitski is capped at what you paid us for the app (i.e., up to $4.99). We're not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages — including, say, a friend short-paying because the AI mis-read a number.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for users who abuse the service or violate these terms. You can stop using Splitski at any time by deleting the app and your account.
Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll surface an in-app notice. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
